Button Lab

Button Lab is where Use the Tools Club turns into action. Try a mission, play a tiny game, ask a better question, and make something real.

Mission 001: Ask Better Questions

A Use the Tools Club activity with Prudence and Mr. Turtle

Learn how to ask clearer questions, use a tool, check the answer, and stay in charge.

Start here. This printable Button Lab mission helps kids and grown-ups practice using tools with curiosity, judgment, and imagination.

Download it, print it, and try the mission with a search engine, AI helper, drawing app, music app, camera, notebook, or any tool that helps you make or learn something.

Use the tool. Do not become the tool.

Mission 002: Check Before You Trust

Your Mission: Learn how to compare answers, check sources, and notice when a confident answer might still be wrong.

Tools can be helpful.

Tools can also be wrong.

Your job is to learn how to check an answer before you trust it.

Prudence says: “If a squirrel gives you directions, maybe check the map.”

Mr. Turtle says: “A confident answer is not always a correct answer.”

Mission 003: Make Something Real

Your Mission: Use what you learned to create something of your own: a drawing, story, poster, song idea, comic, or tiny game idea.

A tool can help you think.

But the mission is not finished until you make something real.

That could be a drawing, a story, a song idea, a comic, a poster, a list, a question card, a tiny game idea, or a plan you can try.

Prudence says: “If we learned something, we should make something!”

Mr. Turtle says: “The tool can help. The choice is yours.”
